I dont know what boost you were running, but Bens turbo conversion was running around for a year or so on 12psi (stock EvoX actuator) without an issue so I doubt it was a straight boost problem.

More likely some sort of oil supply failure. Or crap rods.

My suction pipe, MAF and airbox are now covered in DEI Reflect-a-Gold heat shielding. Seems to give a 5-7*C temp drop so I am recommending it as an effective intake mod.

Some of these intake setups can make a small gain (when the under hood air temp is 25*C or less) but the gain is usually because the MAF reads incorrectly and the Air Fuel Ratio is leaner than stock at WOT. I would like to see a setup where the MAF housing is not reduced diameter ie is the same as the feed pipe. And also with the MAF housing closer to the throttle than the air filter. Maybe modify a K&N short ram kit or similar. Also cut the plastic shroud thing at the snorkle entry. Use a Ralliart...
