Re: NA CJ Lancer Servicing Complete Thread

The more you can get and supply the better off you'll be, just had my first service after cap priced and learned the dealers are as unscrupulous as imagined. First issue they tried to change wiper blades, same trick Volkswagen used on my parents. My car has non servicable blades. Second they wanted ...

Re: Burnt out clutch Lancer CJ

No harm trying the dealer if you've had the car serviced there.

If your a regular customer they may do it under warranty as a good will gesture, had a similar situation with Nissan and a Micra that had a broken syncro gear that was fixed under warranty despite obvious end user fault.

Re: Dimming mirror

The 2 windows at the bottom are a green led when on (left) and the other is a light sensor for cars behind. Mine is a little different as it has the image for the reverse camera integrated so has a power button in the middle (turns image off and led goes orange when in reverse) so unfortunately can'...

Re: 82.6L/100k

Do you have tar based sound damping in the car?

As an alternate theory to exhaust gas smell if you have a tar based sound damper it could be out gassing causing fumes (hot exhaust heating up floor).

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

It may be a case of MMA only issuing replacement ETACS with a valid serial number to stop dealerships from hoarding supplies and potentially having more parts issued than need replacing.

It's only a guess but in a large recall like this it would minimize waste and therefore final cost to Mitsubishi.

Re: Fog Lamps with angels eyes DRLs

Not to derail the thread too much but those lights posted by SAM-24A seem like they have a bit of a flaw. They have a light sensor that turns on the fog high beam when light levels are low such as entering a tunnel. The video shows they come on fairly quickly in a tunnel. Depending on sensitivity I ...

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

Every time I hear about car recalls I'm reminded of the conversation from Fight Club: Taken from IMDb. Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recal...

Rear sway bar in wrecked VRX at Imlachs

More of a heads up than anything else. Was at Imlachs self serve in Springvale on Monday (01/08/2016) and saw that the wrecked VRX (2008) they had there still had its' rear sway bar and all associated parts (lower control arms, end links and mounting hardware). Not many other useful parts (been ther...

Re: GoVia Screw Up!

Do you have more than 1 tag associated with the account? ie. are you topping up an active account. As a guess since you returned the tag the system may think the account is now closed hence why when ever you put money in it just refunds it. Try associating your tag serial in your car to account and ...

Re: Need help with tips and ideas for my lancer

The car looks good with those wheels but I can't help notice aerial is bent. You can get beesting or stubby aerials that give the car a sleeker look and be less prone to damage. I have the Autotechnica smart antenna. It fits ok but leaves a gap between the base and conical mounting of antenna, I use...

Dr Strangeshift

Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the CVT. When I first got my CVT equipped Lancer I really didn't know what to expect. I had come from a history of always driving manual cars, only ever drove automatics if they were work cars. The decision was due to having a car that other members of my f...

Re: Color Cluser Indicator Sound

I know on my car it has this fuction that can be choosen via the mode button (MY12 monochrome amber cluster), the alternate sound is really high pitched.

I'm guessing it was added later as I remember reading that it could be done with MY13 via the touch screen (possibly only MMCS).

Used to be able to access service manual here: http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=8528&highlight=workshop+manual But it no longer works. For the caliper assembly it's 100 Nm +- 10 (74 ft-lb +- 7). For the caliper bolts I can't seem to find it in the service manual as it no longer works with windo...

Re: Adding value to a Lancer?

Yeah I get that spending X $'s won't see that amount back in resale but what I guess I was kinda asking is if you add an option or deleted part to a car can it compete with trim levels that had that as standard? I know looks (Wheels and tasteful body kits) can go a long way to adding value, but do p...

Adding value to a Lancer?

Every year when it comes time to renew my insurance I look at car sales sites to try gauge market value. I know my car could fetch slightly more than the base ES's due to mods but I always wonder IF I were to sell it could it reasonably price closer to higher spec models, knowing that they usually h...
