A/c heater clicking noise

Hello guys needbsome help with my 08 gts, when its idle and the a/c or heater is on you will hear a clicking/tapping sound every 10 or 30 seconds, but when i turn off ac or heater, it will go away....i dont know whts wrong...pls help thx...

Pretty sure that's just your A/C internals expanding when the heater is on and contracting when your cooling is on... Either way it's normal, I get those clicking sounds too.

If the AC is actually on then that clicking sound is most Likely just the compressor starting and stopping.
Its quite loud i think and you can hear it while idle at the lights.
Mine is maybe every 1-2 minutes after it has cooled down the cabin on a really hot day.

if its under warranty get Mitsubishi to check it out.
10-30 seconds is fairly odd though i think...

the clicking sound is the A/C Compressor clutch engaging and disengaging, you can even watch it happen. if you look in your engine bay down between the engine and the chassis on the side with the drive belt the compressor is just below the Alternator. the pulley on it spins all the time, but the large disk behind the pulley is the clutch, you can see it click in and spin then click out and stop when idle and the A/C is on. its perfectly normal for it to do this.
