I always thought it was due to my x-factor mirror install that made the rattles.. but it seems it is not the case. Oh well... When I do get around to removing the stereo I will ahvea look behind and tape up any lose wires :D

Putting duct tape on where the glovebox piston hooks on to hasn't reduced the rattling. Now I think it's that plastic panel under the cabin filter. Going to take it apart this weekend and try to pad it up.

Ok, so I've managed to minimise the rattling to the point where most people will not hear it unless you are looking for it.

Took out the glovebox and taped foam to all the sides. Been working really well for the past month.. I travel lots of country so it's been tested well :)

Well Rattle's aren't as bad as my friend's 2 year old Astra lol. She travels the same roads and we car pool - glovebox, headlining, left door, boot rattles everywhere. Thought its really quiet inside :P

Dad's 14 year old Camry has no rattles at all. Says a fair bit about the hard plastics we have now.

Fixed my rattle i thought was behind the stereo, was the dash board at the top neer the windscreen took a little bit of plastic between the two. now to trck down the rest.

pretty much all the door handles locking them helps a bit...

The glovebox rattle is caused by the slow release valve and how it hinges on the glovebox door when it's closed as it doesn't have any weighted load on it when it's closed obviously.

There is a post somewhere about a member fixing it if you do a forum search.

just wondering if anybody else has heard the rattle that comes from the pillar where your seat belt is or possibly around the rear drivers side door. I can only hear it when the stereo is up loud (so its not loose enough to rattle without a bit of bass) and it just ruins the quality of the music altogether (makes it sound staticy).

I thought I had the exact same problem, but after I took the pillar off (while the music was playing) it kept going. Turns out it was in my rear passenger side door.

It was coming from the locking wires that run across the doors. The speakers seem to cause them to rattle against the body/interior panel.

It was only obvious in one door at the volume I usually have my music at. But when I turned it up to around the 30 mark and put my ears close to each door individually, it seems they all do it. It started raining before I could get to the other doors... So next time I get a chance I'll be adding foam to them too.

Has anybody found a fix for the steering column rattle?
