Talon Rear Diffuser issue

Postby malkinfalcon » Wed Mar 21, 2012 8:49 am

[Before I start I just want to make it clear that at this particular point in time I am not trying to ruin the reputation or heap s### on to Talon body kits in Sydney, YET.]

Now, I received my rear diffuser (primed only) yesterday after quite a long wait WITHOUT the grille, tips, screws or anything, however, I was told that the tips would be sent seperately as they forgot..not sure 'bout the rest of the stuff as yet.
Anyway, that's the least of my worries because I know that can easily be sorted. The big issue is with the actual product - It has a large crack!

There are minor cracks here and there which I assume is due to a poor product, however, I reiterate that at this point that is just an assumption. I can deal with the small cracks but the large one is near the middle approaching the area where the grille is meant to sit and is very deep. It's also ruined the general shape of the diffuser as one half is now a few mm deeper than the other. Finally, this particular area is surrounded by glue residue which makes me very suspicious.

So, I understand that this may have happened due to poor postage conditions but again, the glue and multiple other cracks + the inability to send the package together makes me very suspicious. Therefore, my question to everyone - what do I do ? Do I demand a replacement? Do I get them to fix it and demand that they pay for postage? Do I ask to get it fixed at my local panel beater (approx how much $) ???

Sorry 'bout the essay but I'm just really disappointed and want to sort this issue out ASAP and peacefully ;)

Much worse than it looks here because it's far deeper -

Ye just got a reply from them...They said it HAD to be postage damage and the resin is from the bracket attachment. They're willing to take it back and offer a full refund, however, I want a replacement..My question - is it assumed that they will pay for the postage for me to return it :S ?

It was packaged reasonably well but definitely could've been much better...They now just told me that they're happy to give me a full refund, however, NO replacement product :S :S ...

Ye my heart is definitely set on it...How come they refuse to send me a replacement though? Does that mean that they'll refuse to sell me a new one in general? Doesn't it work out to be the same expense for them - selling a new one or sending replacement???

Another thing, NOBODY signed anything upon arrival...Nobody was even home when it arrived and was left at the doorstep... :S

Just tell them to refund your money , plus return postage if they want the bar back
I would assume that they will not want to take anymore of a loss on the bar and if they don't want the bar back use the refund to have it fixed and painted

Ye there's no chance they will give me a refund without me sending the bar back, is there? The thing I don't get is that I can send it back, make them pay for return postage and not receive a replacement, however, go and buy a new one with the refund money anyway...That's where I'm confused, why won't they just give me a replacement because either way I can buy a new one for the same price that I've already paid...

Ye but Isn't sending a replacement pretty much the exact same as buying a new one money wise?

replacement - they just send me an undamaged one and charge me nothing since I've already paid amount X

new - they refund me and I purchase a new undamaged one for that exact amound x

...
