Yes when I open the boot it shows but should it show with the bonnet?

I have tried this, pretty sure it's the same in the manual which I checked first and attempted but it didn't work

I'm going to make the assumption that ALL the connectors for the base sensors are there so I'd be able to purchase and technically plug and play any of these and not require a second key?

I think you only need to add siren or second horn, shock sensor (I have no idea of location and I dont want to post security related things on here) It will have to be enabled within the ETACs box either through dealer or someone who has abilty to do that. Maybe jump on here on facebook they are really knowledgable and would most likely know the answers to everything.

Once you add the bonnet sensor it will work without being enabled if the wiring is there.

Oh so I'd just need to buy the bonnet release hatch with the sensor cable off ebay, a siren (why doesnt it work off the built in horn?) and then just have it enabled in the ETAC and the security alarm SHOULD work? What do the shock sensors do exactly though? does it go off when the car is being moved?

Best off checking if thats all you need to add. I can't answer that. I tried to enable it on my wife's (ex now) vrx and it didnt work. It had most stuff. The only thing i could get it to do was chirp when you lock and unlock the same as the evo.

would the chirp just be something that is software based?
would any siren work or should I have a look at one of the previous kits you mentioned

The siren is the second horn for the car I believe.

Only Evo and Ralliart had them.
The vrx and Aspire don’t have them.
The end of the day the lancer’s aren’t easy to steal. I’ve never felt the need for an alarm as most people are just immune to the going off as they go off so often.
An aftermarket alarm can be fitted if required

I was reasonably sure the VRX didn’t have one but I thought the Aspire being the high end model may have had one.The factory immobiliser is going to foil your average thief.

The only thing alarms do is notify you of a smash and grab of car contents. Most thieves these days are teen joyriders who break into houses and steal the keys making an alarm mute.
However, i have a service manual for an OS variant of the lancer and in the dianostics that i have been reading, the normal horns (HI/LO) are used in the alarm circuit and the Bonnet switch is not used (Though if connected probably is). The indicator light (next to the hazard switch) is there but the wires are not in the plug (Pins 12 and 15) so these would need to be connected to pins 2 and 9 on connector C-317 (Pin 2 goes to 15 and pin 9 goes to 12). whether connecting these and then activating the alarm in the ETACS KON file would work is another storey.
P.S. This was a pretty quick investigation, i will have a closer look when i get the chance just to ensure i haven't mixed the order of the wires.

Wait so there is no plug that go from indicator light but it's wires that i need to connect myself? and would i need to purchase the C-317 plug because I don't have that plugged in the fuse box?
