hey guys,

lately ive been looking at installing some driving lights (or fog lights) and ive seen a universal lighting bar that mounts behind your license plate, however i have offset my license plate to one side and that would just look stupid...

so i was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to mount driving lights to the grille? or even through the grill on our cars. I have a VRX and i was thinking in this layout:

You can buy an aluminium support that is screwed into the number plate screws. It has a little bar like a roo bar that you can then mount your lights too. It is very easy to fit and remove if required.

Check any auto store as most sell them.

Might have to get a custom bracket made - maybe a "H" pattern ?

Powdercoat/spray black ?

You can leave you number plate on the side but use the screws from where it was originally located. This way your lights are central and you done have to drill any holes.

That would not be very secure for 4x7" driving lights .. i.e. 2x 5mm screws.

I would add some bracing behind the grille - more secure and less vibration.

Holy blast from the past Batman, welcome back to ClubCJ Brad lone time no see mate.

I have found those number plate light bars tend to bounce alot when fitted to plastic bars like we have, if you went that way you may have to find some way to support the back of the bumper to stop the flex and bounce.
