What’s the law about fog lights? Aren’t they illegal for anything outside it’s particular use or what? I’ve seen other lancers with tinted fogs but never thought of doing it myself if I can’t even use them? So confused !

Fog light are not to be used unless there is fog or has just been fog. I know people still use them are driving lights but you really shouldn't.
I've used my fog lights in fog maybe 2 or 3 times in over 3 years of owning my VRX, apart from that they just don't get used. Love we have no excuse 'I forgot they were on officer.' Because the CJ turns them off by default the next time the car is started. Besides with DRLs there is really no need for fog lights outside of foggy conditions.
BTW I don't know if tinting them yellow does anything to help, or they would have done it from the factory.

Yeah that’s what I thought, I’ve seen a lot of American lancers with yellow fogs, but car laws are pretty baby like versus australia

You can use fogs in Fog/Mist/ Low visibility conditions.
They can be white or yellow. Any other colour is illegal.
While not as bright as white, the darker yellow helps to cut through the fog and reduce the Glare off it as you drive through it.
I drive up to my dads place a lot. At night/ early morning it gets pretty foggy up there. Especially during the winter.

Same reason they tell you not to drive in fog with your high beams on, you end up doing yourself a disservice in not seeing a lot of the road. the amount of people back home who must have missed this memo, you're driving in fog and this great white orb is coming down the road towards you...

Ahh this makes more sense! I didn’t know where my fog light switch was until like 1.5 years into ownership xD

I got stuck behind a BMW X5 that had their Highbeams on in fog once. All I could see was a wall of white.
xD

Well it was an X5, so not the brightest spark on the road anyway.
