From what i know about BC specifcally, the foot of the shock should turn up the thread cut tube shorten the overall length of the coilover or you turn the lower spring saddled down to allow the spring to sag more, this will lower the car, if you just turn it all the way out so the spring has no restrictions on it that will allow maximum drop but you will prob be on the bump stops and have a terrible ride quality lol trust me on that one

yer i compressed the spring as hard as possible and the bottom cup to the max and hasnt changed height all, the i just loosened the spring and nothing different man

Compressing the spring raises or keeps car standard hieght, you need to loosen the spring so it moves around freely on the strut

If u wind the spring up u will just make ur spring rate tighter, to lower the car u wind up the bottom, loosen off the lower nut and wind the bottom tube up

There is not much weight in the back as the front so it may take a little longer to settle in.

Put some weight in the boot and then see how you go.

@Ben

You should have a copy of this Set-Up Sheet when you got your Coilovers.
If not . then here it is.

Image

Coilovers are Very Simple to Set-Up and Adjust correctly.

Useful Hint before you start:
The thread on the Shock Mono-Tube has a thread pitch of 1.5mm.
I full turn = 1.5mm
2 full turns = 3mm.
3 full turns = 4.5mm
4 full turns = 6.0mm etc etc etc.

1) Never Over "Pre-Load" the Spring.
Doing so will increase the Spring Rate and result in a Stiffer Compression and Rebound effect. (not desirable)

Correct Procedure = Wind Collar "2a" until it just makes contact with the Spring, then wind it a further 2 full turns (3mm).
Lock Collar "2b" against collar "2a" tightly.
This will provide sufficient Pre-Load for the Spring to remain captured and seated between the top and bottom plates.

These two collars (2a &2b) should never require unlocking or adjusting ever, unless your dismantling or rebuilding/repairing the shock.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) The Height Adjustment is controlled by Screwing the Threaded Mono-Tube Into or Out-Off the Bottom Mount.

Correct Procedure = Unlock Collar "2c" and unscrew it several turns.
Remember, Since Collars 2a & 2b are locked tightly against each other,
using the C-Spanner supplied to turn either collar will rotate the Threaded Mono-Tube.

Rotate Clockwise = Into the Bottom Mount = Shorter Shock Length = Lower Ride Height.

Rotate Anti-Clockwise = Out-Off Bottom Mount = Longer Shock Length = Higher Ride Height.

The easiest way to help you determine and keep count of rotations is by simply placing a black texta mark on one of the lugs on collar 2a.
Remember, each full turn = 1.5mm change in ride height.

Finally, lock Collar "2c" tightly against the Bottom Mount.

Remove all stands and jacks and lower the car to the ground.
Drive the car forward and backwards 10-15 meters several times applying the brakes at the end of each movement.
This will settle the suspension components and allow the car to assume its correct ride height.
Measure and re-adjust until desired ride height is achieved.

Hope this Helps.

Sam.

@ Ayron,
Thanks, but I'm no King with info.

Just explaining the set-up sheet in an easier to understand format and include a few dimensional tips/info that will aid set-up proceedure.

Its sometimes very easy to miss-understand a proceedure/instruction and conclude with the incorrect result.

Coilovers are the "Best" Suspension Tuning Mod available for general Automotive application.
Correct fittment and especially Set-Up is vital for achieving the Enhanced Value for which they were intended to provide.

Yeh I did see your pic,
Personally, although it does look good set that low, I think its too low for useful suburban practicallity, and in keeping with the RTA requirememt of 100mm ground clearence.
Your really going to have to be very carefull when approaching driveways, speedhumps and parking-lot barrier stops.
