So i spent 6 hours working on my car...
It was time to finally complete the 4B11T.
I was still using some of the NA Lancer parts due to money and time and its finally over.
Fair few things needed to be changed.
And people that have turboed their Lancers or upgrading or changing manifold. Make sure you buy new gaskets and bolts and nuts.
Evo X Fuel pump assembly
Now, since Evo X have a smaller tank, they use a smaller arm for the float. And Lancers have a bigger fuel tank. Hence the Longer float arm. And as someof you know or didnt know, my NA Lancer fuel sender was buggered...
Also, as you can see, this one has another fuel hose hole, which is for the fuel return line off the regulator on the fuel rail.
So for the arms they just swap around, 1 clip. And the arm comes out.
Also, gave it a nice clean and chucked on a E85 fuel filter too.
IT WAS TIME TO BEGIN
Took the front bumber off just to make things easier with some Intercooler piping and so on.
I dont have photos of each step and what bolt i took off. Because mechanic life, no time for phones haha and dirty hands, so i took photos of what i could.
Sooo 1 hour and 30 minutes later...
The old plastic intake manifold was off! Cleaned the cylinder head and ready for the new gasket.
New bolts and nuts has to be used since the NA LANCER manifold has a thicker flange. So short bolts are required.
All the wiring had to be disconnected. like i mean every sensor on the engine. Makes it easier to remove things and especially the Intake Manifold.
And everything is in!!
Bit of messing around and making things fit but its all good
Now as most of you guys know, i still got a CEL on. Thats due to this sucker here. Next to the MAP sensor is the Intake Air Temp sensor 2 (IAT2). This is why my engine light is on because its looking for this sensor. So Beeble and i have to wire this bad boy into the ecu and it should go away
Another thing is the the Purge control solenoid valve which is the thing next to the IAT2 sensor which is unplugged. This is the NA lancer Purge control solenoid valve. On the NA Lancer intake manifold, this is actually plugged into it. But here is the same thing just changed the location and hooked some Vac lines into it !
Also, the NA LANCER MAP sensor bolts dont fit this manifold so you need to change them. Hence why mines gold :p
M5x0.8 form memory
Now, the return line from the engine bay to fuel pump assembly was the difficult part for me. I was tired and frustrated at this stage lol
and due to limited space under the car. I used the OEM EVO X return line with is a HARD LINE. so theres only limited flex in it and feeding it up .
Good thing about lancers is that where the fuel lines and brake lines are under the car. Theres brackers that hold them, Thank you Mitsubishi . They left 1 for the return line :p So it just cliped in
So everything is connected up now!
Starting the car was scary, but she started perfectly fine. Without missing a heartbeat. Ran the car for about 20 minutes and scanned it to make sure i havent missed any plugs and that everything was actually connected in.
Took it around the block and she ran fine...... BUT! Since everything has been changed, i cant hit BOOST
Have to wait for Beeble to actually check that all the fueling and stuff is actually ok.
Soooo, granny shifting for a few days is gonna be fun !
THANKS GUYS! MORE TO COME :p
