I'm undecided if it's worth it if I'm doing a few mods probably after merlin comes.
BC Racing Coilovers, 3in Turbo back Exhaust, Merlin Tune.

Once you go black, your endlessly cleaning that.

It's definitely worth it. Ralliarts go really well with just a tune, ask Annie.

What mods are you planning?

My deposit has been sent :).
I might add a pic of my car once I style the exterior a bit :).

Assuming they are performance mods ideally you'd do them before the tune to get the most out of it and avoid potential issues by doing them after it.

Hi Guys and Gals,

This is all very encouraging and from the look of the likely starters list I will probably now arrive in the afternoon of Friday 8th April for an early start Saturday morning and will return home Sunday afternoon.

Michael, glad to see you have once again put your name down - this time for sure eh?

Ralliart people, please indicate if you will be requiring a boost pill as I will need to get these ready beforehand. Also note that the single best component you can upgrade is your stock intercooler. There is a noticeable difference in the spark that can be effectively run with a better intercooler and so you win form both cooler/denser air and a more aggressive spark map.

CVT owners, you may be wondering if it actually is worth getting a tune.
I know the CVT as stock is a bit soft but some revised MIVEC, SPARK and THROTTLE mapping will definitely wake it up. They even sound different.

All tunes should show some improvement in fuel economy. There are various reasons including spark mapping and closed-loop control but the primary reason is the stock fuel maps are quite rich.

We will need to work out a rough tuning order but that can wait until after Easter sometime. If you have critical tuning time availability, let me know by pm after you have paid your deposit so I can start building the run schedule.

The venue is not defined as yet but Annie and I have some preliminary plans to work with. Watch this space for further announcements on that aspect.

Note that I expect the tuning to be optimised for 98 octane fuel so make sure that is what is in the tank!
I know some people do not realise their engines are a high compression type and that 98 octane is what they were designed to run with on a day to day basis even though they will cope with rubbish from time to time.
But the best fuel economy will come from 98 octane. Welcome to the world of High and Low Octane fuel maps.

Post questions if you like and I will endeavour to provide more or less sensible answers - well mostly anyway.

Merlin! My main man! How goes the wizardry?

I'm definitely keen on getting my car tuned for optimal performance and economy, I'm just enquiring into the cut off date as I have a service, exhaust and a few things I need to address before I'm certain I can splash the cash on this amazing aftermarket feature

Hi Daniel, all the information is in the first post in the thread with dates for deposit and tentative weekend for tuning. I hope that helps.

I'm sure Merlin will be in contact with you soon to let you know what you need to do before he arrives.

I might be in Adelaide in April, not really considering a tune but will keep it in mind. Maybe if the timing works I could just drop by to check things out.
