I recall that I bugged about something earlier this week, but I guess so much to love about it, it's kinda faded from memory now.

As with many others lancer owners road noise is a nuisance.
Biggest pet peeve was the noise that was emitted anytime i reversed! Hard to describe but a bit like a low screech (very embarassing when all else was quiet). Repeatedly asked about this issue, they unenthusiastically cleaned the brakes (gee how nice of them) and amazingly the nosie stopped. For an Hour!!!
Have been putting up with it ever since (5 years worth) and reverse parked into spaces to reduce the frequency of the nosie. Long story short. Last car service they removed and replaced the brake pads and cleaned the backing plates. Funnily enough the noise has not returned, yet, and its been two months Otherwise its a fun car.

what i dont like about my lancer...
People picking holes in my awesome car, telling me its showy, not goey, and yet i smoke em on 0-100km. in drive.
People who comment on how 'cheap' the interior is, when it has ASC, ABS, TC, EBFD, BA, MIVEC, 5star ancap, stiff body/chassis, front & rear anti-roll bars and Paddle-shifters!!
Plastic? who cares!!
rattles bug me to no end though!

For every "Drive Safely" sign, shouldn't there be a "Resume Normal Driving" sign?

what annoys me??
A rattle in the center of the dash, but it seems to go when the plastics warm up a bit.
A notchy gear shift, that seems to be common tho.
The size of the mirrors - they are good for rear view but I find in my driving position, they obscure too much of the view in the bottom of the A pillar which means the possibility of clipping curbs (touch wood haven't done it yet).
finally the noisy engine. From the outside it sounds very tappety (if thats a word)

Random rattles I am hearing more and more, and silly panel reverb from the bass generated from stock Rockford Fosgate sub.

First I should say there is a lot more to like than dislike about the Lancer.
One thing that annoys me that has not yet been mentioned is the way the seatbelt buckle can jam between the B pillar and side of the seat lean , if the space was just a bit wider or narrower it would not happen.
and yes agree about road noise and have already scored 4 stonechips on bonnet and only 1500klm.

Hoon magnet. ES-Evo it attracts them all. At the start it was amusing but now its annoying. Had some old man pushing his 50years in a Getz trying to race the car. If they not trying to race it then they show off their drifting skills... Not joking but had a Skyline the other weekend drift across a major intersection in evening traffic; waving the ass around like a cheap whore... Dumb c person. Police should use my car as an undercover police car, it be like a cash cow for them the amount of money they would make from it. Any Lancer not just my one; ditch the Commodores and fill your police fleets with Lancers. Much money to be made and many licenses you will can.
Drive normally you bunch of dumb c-bombs...
---
Engine rattles/tapping, get the Alutec light weight pulley. Engine is almost dead quiet once its on. Since Ive had mine in the engine is that quiet

1.ROAD NOISE
2.RATTLES
3.Tinny Exhaust Note
4.Cheap Interior Plastics
5.The random clicks when the engine/AC is on, that only the CJ seems to do
6.The extremely thin paint that seems to scratch and chip all the time.
7.CVT Drone
8.The click (from the CVT) every time you put your foot on the brake
9.The bumpy ride from the stock tyres
10.The tinny sound when closing the doors and Locking/Unlocking the car (makes the car sound cheap)
11.The lack of the center console lid in the 08 es
12.The squeaky suspension when going over speed humps.
13.The fact the the car very easily gathers dust
14.WIND NOISE and how the windows seem very cheap when they open
15.The fact that i didnt wait and buy and Activ
