the stock stereo in my gsr reminds me of when i used to connect those $10 portable speakers to my discman

not being able to charge iphone and play music from it at the same time using the usb.

my center console is covered in felt from some kind of 80's porno

balancing weights on the outside of the rim look tacky

thats all ive found after 100kms at least they are all easily fixed

Not in the Lancer. Hubbies last two Craptivas have done it though. They reckon it's the airbags in the Craptiva but the Lancer doesn't have airbags in the pillar. They're in the seat.

Almost everything i put on the passnger seat will end up underneath it. Sunglasses, wallet, phone, etc. Its annoying having to keep getting stuff from under there.

4 things i don't like about my vrx!!

1. The lower springs seem to be a miss match with the shocks. Leading to a skitish front end over multiple bumps. (Hurry up aftermarket manufactures and give me a sports shock that can keep up with the bumps)

2. Paint..........I mean really WTF??? Did they forget a few coats. I breath on it and it chips

3. Noise....Now this is something i'm willing to invest in to fix. I have driven the same year model ES big difference. So tires are the obvious choice. But given the size difference. I'm not convinced tyre brands will be a major factor.

4. Stereo reception. Third lancer i have had that has pathetic reception.

I should add that i still think its Brilliant car though. Faults that i have mentioned are minor in comparison to the the fun i have chucking her around in sydneys eastern suburbs.

my seat doesnt appear to be height adjustable

and the smart key rarely works in my bag or pocket when opening the door unless i actually hump the door handle, which gets some strange looks.

bahahahahah I have to do the same thing, and yeah you do get some strange looks. Also if you have your phone in the same pocket as your keys the smart key will not work.

As for the height adjustment you don't have that with the Recaro, only the standard seats got it and only on the drivers side.

The speedo is showing a difference to what the gps is showing, my 98 camry's speedo I used to own was showing the same as the gps pretty much all the time. the difference on the lancer is around 5kph to sometimes 8kph. Not sure if it's a good thing or not, because if the speedo is out by 5-10%, that means when you clock up 100,000 kms, you effectively have only done 93-95,000 kms. Would that be true??

I had this concern too Glen.

The issue now is there are ADRs the car manufacturers have to meet, so they make the speedo read higher than the speed you actually do. As you go faster the speedo tends to be not as accurate also.

The best thing to do is set a constant speed, and reset your average speed and see what that reads. I found it was actually pretty close to the GPS while the analogue speedo read higher.

You will find the majority of newer cars are approx 5kms out.

Yep. There was a thing in Wheels a couple of years ago saying that all new cars are between 3 and 5 km/hr out at 100km/hr. Hubbies Craptiva is 3 km out. My car does the same as his at the same speed so I'm guessing the Lancer is 3 out as well. The Bubble is right on the money though. At 100 I go past everyone else because my 100 is faster than their 100 :)

I always set the cruise control at 103 :)

I hate the annoying wind sound coming from the rear left of the car when im on the highway. Yet to find out where the noise is coming from, any one else have anything like this?

Can't say I heard any noise from that section of the car.

I don't have any weird noises coming from anywhere in the car. Thankfully.

The Craptiva has a horrible pinging where the seatbelt joins the pillar near the airbag and is really windy.

yeah, i noticed it last week, really weird, it appears at about 80km/h then disappears at ~105km/h. But i've only heard it in my cj, but not in dads MY08 es, very confusing. Sounds like the window is ever so slightly rolled down.
