its a safety triangle u put up on the road when u are changing a Tyre or have broken down..

its like a traffic cone i think so put behind ur car so other cars in lose visablitly can see the car

most european cars have them come standard because it is the law over there, well my dads Audi and my X5 both have em

i got one for my 20th bday for the car one from racv

Is there a special location to actually fit/store it in the boot or does it just sit loose?

@ JaCe: It has some velcro on the back which makes it tag onto any of the cloth trim in the boot.
