I dislike cops as much as the next guy. Alot of them sound off without getting their facts right. And that pisses me off.
However, there's one point we need to address here:
Can anybody help me find where in the ADR it states what level of tint on the tail light/how much light can be blocked out is acceptable before it becomes illegal?
I can't find anything in any of the TMR files.

It doesn't have a definition of how much it can be blocked out. It's about how much light in
candelas is emitted by the lamps. Another way of looking at it, Not how much you can block. Sure you can block, but after blocking how much do you actually emit and if that still reaches the acceptable minimum.
So please get your facts right before you sound off.
