Code No. P0710: Malfunction of CVT Fluid Temperature Sensor













DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION


CVT-ECU conducts fault detection by monitoring the terminal voltage of the CVT fluid temperature sensor.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list


Item 05: CVT fluid temperature sensor signal (Refer to Service Data Reference Table ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the following connector:



  • B-118 CVT assembly connector
  • C-33 CVT-ECU connector
  • A-10 Intermediate connector
Check the terminals for a contact status problem and internal short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check for open circuit and short to earth in the wiring harness between the CVT assembly connector and the CVT-ECU connector


Between B-118 CVT assembly connector (terminal No. 17) and C-33 CVT-ECU connector (terminal No. 50)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check for open circuit in the wiring harness between the CVT assembly connector and the CVT-ECU connector


Between B-118 CVT assembly connector (terminal No. 17) and C-33 CVT-ECU connector (terminal No. 50)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. CVT fluid temperature sensor check

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Replace the valve body assembly.

STEP 6. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnosis code


Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction
Replace CVT-ECU.
