Code
No.B240C Tail gate antenna(outdoor) open
| caution |
When replacing the ECU, always
check that the communication circuit is normal.
|

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
If an open circuit is detected in the outside transmission antenna assembly (trunk lid),
the diagnosis code is set.
JUDGMENT CRITERIA
When the ignition push switch is pressed, or when the antenna open circuit detection request
is received from the diagnosis function, the failure is detected.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the outside transmission antenna assembly (trunk lid)
- Malfunction of the KOS-ECU
- Damaged wiring harness and connectors
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Connector check: F-17 Outside transmission antenna
assembly (trunk lid) connector, C-23 KOS-ECU connector
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the defective connector.
STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between the F-17 outside transmission
antenna assembly (trunk lid) connector terminal No. 1, 2, 3 and the C-23 KOS-ECU connector terminal
No, 6, 19, 40.
Check the communication, power supply, and earth wires for open circuit.
| note |
Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check C-16, C-28 and D-16 intermediate connectors,
and repair them if necessary.
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the wiring harness.
STEP 3. Keyless operation system communication test
Check that the communication with the outside transmission antenna assembly (trunk lid)
is normal (Refer to Antenna Test
).
Antennas to be checked
- Trunk lid antenna (outdoor)
OK: Normal is displayed.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the outside transmission antenna assembly (trunk lid).
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
|
|
|
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
|
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to
).
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection
Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction
).
