if you look down the pages a bit, the specs on the brakes for es/vr and vrx/aspire are there. they are bigger, front and rear.

Hey all, looks like I got back from my hols just in time - been thinking of brakes a lot recently, so gonna have to put as couple of other things on hold I think - cheers for this Irving

Definate EOI (assuming end of sept time) for

- DP21614 Front greenstuffs
- 7646G Front slotted/dimpled gold rotors

Now for a couple of questions
- are the VRX gold front rotors (RDA7896G) too big for my VR?
- Is quoted price final price, or is a large interest in a GB going likely to lower the price further?

Cheers :D
- Self tuned - work in progress - tune revision #16_03
- GS 3 port controlled wooooot :)
- Lowered on Kings
- Black Evo X FMIC/ Evo IX BOV/ Depo HFC/ UR UICP
- Awesome self installed Alpine/JL Audio sound system
- Whiteline Rear Swaybar

with the gold anoized (spelling?) rotors, what the difference between those and the standard slotted and dimpled rotors? Something to do with brake fade or..?

Ralliart and VRX/Aspire have different pads.

These are the ones that came out of my car and the ones I purchased from a member, side by side.

Better de-gassing (ie less brake fade) and more pad bite. Bottom line is they pull the car up quicker, but they will create a bit of noise, vibration and harshness and braking.

and they wont rust, unless you sit there and grind the anodized surface off.

Yeah that is also correct, not that is the main reason why I got them. The anodizing has held up well over the last year and I live in a high salt environment where anything that isn't protected well rusts pretty quick...

ofey wrote:Rear Rotors (ES, VR, VRX, ASPIRE, RA) -> Not offered in Round 1
RDA7897 $70.00 EA
RDA7897S $200.00 (PAIR)
RDA7897G $270.00 (PAIR)

this is what i was refering to with the differnt sizes for VRX/ES/RA rear disks, ofey has given only one part number for them, but they are differnt for each car.
