in regards to legality of these, theroetically there not located in the engine bay and therfore do not need to be enclosed. so in nsw they cant book you for it.

Does the hydroshield actually stop water from puddles? Reason I'm asking is a friend's integra has just copped it from driving in a few shallow puddles. I assume if this happens you'd let it dry out? So much so my other friend who has an MPS drives a camry when its raining heavily now haha...

The hydroshield actaully does a pretty good job of preventing water from going through. When I got my hydroshield I actually tested it by pouring water into the shield and I was surprised that it held the water in just like a plastic bag would, without any leaks. However if your pod filter with hydroshield is completely submerged, then there would be an issue as the seal for the hydroshield is just an elastic band so water can still go through from that area.

Ah, thanks for that.. but would there be any performance issues?? Since I suppose it would restrict airflow a bit more or perhaps reduce the induction noise?

Theoretically yes, but you probably wouldn't notice anything different performance wise because the Injen CAI doesn't produce any significant performance increase to begin with. As for noise, yes I found that it did reduce the sound a bit.
