Fix paint chip

Postby Johnny8380 » Sun May 13, 2012 11:48 am

Hey guys,

I just got my car 3 weeks ago and have already got a paint chip on top of the roof. I couldn't stop swearing that day.

Whats the best way of getting it fixed?

Cheers,

Well, be prepared for more swearing, mines about 8 months old. Cleaned her yesterday, and found 21 chips in the bonnet alone.

Yep. Paint chips are standard fare with a CJ!! You could try a paint pen from spare parts.

Unless there's risk of rust, then I think it's better to leave it. There's no way touch-up paint will go unnoticed, and sometimes I think the white layer underneath is better than the blotches that people do.

that everyone else has said.

i keep on finding paint chips and scratches on my cj and it is 3 years old.

only thing is to use the touch up paint that can be purchased from spare parts at ur local dealer and it only cost $12.00

IMO. It will stand out far less if it is the body colour rather than a white dot on a dark background.
