Front Air Dams - INSTALLATION

Postby Carl-BVI » Mon Sep 03, 2012 11:13 am

Okay so my Air Dams are due to come any-day now!

Just wondering if anyone can give me some instructions on Installation? Doesn't look to hard but just need some clarity from people who have got them, installed them etc.

Getting a V-lip shortly after so need it nice and sturdy (Car is lowered & i expect scraping)

Any info is GREAT, Thanks again guys!

-Carlos

personally i won't be getting any air dams with a lowered car, your virtually going to ruin something that you just purchased. With installation some members have used double sided tape with sikaflex or drilling a few holes and using screws, from what I have read its the position of the air dams is the hard part :) hope it all works out for you

doreen, you know alot about stuff on our cars or just know where the information is :P

hope this helps you out mate, i would get airdams to but my car is low and i would just scrap the airdam to much. you might need to measure the height off the ground to where the bits will sit and see if you have sufficient ground clearance..

My car's lowered on H&R Springs with air dams. I scraped occasionally, more towards rarely. I live in SA and I think the roads here are pretty bad compared to VIC, where I used to stay.

I did it following the instuctions that Doreen provided. Pretty easy and straightforward, but it does help a lot to have someone to help you out to mark out the drill holes.

Hi Ricky ahh Don't know as much as the guys on ClubCJ 8) I do a lot of reading on the forum & I try to remember what has been asked & answered so I can go back onto the threads if I need help or can help others out :P .... I wouldn't worry about the height clearance so much in regards of scraping as the Air-Dams sit flush under the front bumper it isn't going to make any scraping any worse then as being lowered ....The most I look out for is the actual front of the Dams when Iam parking in front of those cement blocks in some car parks *eek*

Yes But Ricky if we all thought we shouldn't be putting things from other model lancers we couldn't do any modding :P With the concert blocks etc you get used to the distance & even without the Air-Dams you still have to get used to the distance with parking as you can still scape one's bumper *cool*

Carl, any update on the install?.

Sure is mate! Sorry about the wait! been caught up with work and putting on the V lip! will put photos up soon! But all in all GREAT! fit. If anything there is a slight gap on one of the DAMS but first time installing these so probably my fault!

Ill get the photos up but yes! I Recommend them :)
