I have already bought the other little spoiler and may one day just take the other one off and plug the holes for a week to see if it works or not.

Another thing im wondering what people think.... Colour... Body colour or go the finish of the plastic in the front bar (the black plastic)

The VRX/RA wing is thicker and taller than the SX one.

I want the lip spoiler, but not in black as it will look like a cheap eBay add-on. Body colour is the best. Another issue though is filling the holes where the original wing was screwed into.

Either way is fine, but yeah like the others have said, if you're going to go with the lip spoiler, keep it body colour. It looks much better that way than having it a different colour.

Thanks guys :)

And yes, about the holes.... should i just use the rubber plugs to fill the holes or find someone to swap boots with??

I dont know if i want to go and weld them up only because if i want the old wing back on then it would be a pain to drill them back out again

I wouldn't really go for rubber plugs as rust can develop. From where I come from, we have this type of filler which is designed for metal applications. It is applied like clay and can be sanded and painted on when dry. I haven't checked if it's available in Australia, but if it is, I reckon it's the best way to go.

The boot swap is also a viable option, but there are issues as well. First, the boot itself is heavier than you think. The last thing you want is dropping it. Second, even if you're swapping with the same colour car, there could still be a difference in the shade due to vehicle age and blending deviances from the factory knowing how terrible Mitsubishi's paint quality is.

As for wanting to re-drill and put the old spoiler back, it's a decision you need to make before doing any changes. You may want to factor in when you plan to change cars in the future. Finally, have a close look at a Lancer with the boot lip and go from there.

We call it bog or putty or body fill. Might as well just do that yeah. Easy as hell to do and i can always punch it back out if i wanted to re-install the wing

Weight is not a problem as it would be me and my mate doing it, being careful is always something that is done when removing/installing car parts.
I was thinking that with the colour too! yeah. Might just stick with the boot i have and just do my work to it.

Ive seen a few with just the lip and no spoiler and they look great. Im not too happy how mitsubishi have just thrown this crappy looking wing onto a car which it doesnt suit.

thanks for your reply. It was helpful :)

Depending on how much you're willing to spend. That's not a cheap option. It's probably the best option, but not cheap. You'll need to get the entire boot repainted, and also blending with the bumper etc. Just ask those on here who had their aftermarket bonnet painted.

If you decide not to do the blending part, then it's probably the same with just swapping a boot, as the colour will be slightly different as well. Not to mention that would be cheaper.

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Cheapest option probably, but not really cheap at the end of the day. I think those who got their bonnets painted+blending paid upwards of $700.

$150?! :o If you have the contacts to get it at that price go for it! That's a very good price right there. Or maybe you're doing it yourself? Either way, I'm jealous. :(
