What is this in the car?

Hi all,

I have a new my14 ralliart, and I previously had a 2013 VRX, but didn't notice this above on the roof... it looks like either microphones or sonar sensors? The manual dosent even mention them? it says the microphone is in between the reading lights (and if you look at my pic I can see the wholes for it) s this thing has me stumped...

Also this has been bugging me, there on the left passenger side footwell is what looks like a hole clip? does any one know what it is for? maybe a umbrella holder?

The passenger side "hole clip" is for flares in Japan.

You can put in a flashlight that would fit in that slot.

I had a feeling those nodes might have been some sort of motion detector, i believe only the RA and EVO get a factory security system

Thats right only RA and Evo got them. early models had the sonic sensor under the cup holder.

Motion sensors for the alarm. Came out in 2011 model RA. Very sensitive too, I tested mine out one day :-)

the earlier models dont have it, mine doesnt 08/09.
so i installed a sunglass holder in its place.

Wasn't the alarm only an option too? Ie it wasn't on all RAs/evos.

I think the last guy I saw ask about them said even his dealer didn't know what it was :P

Sorry hijacking the thread here.

The flare hole, I can't find a torch that fits but was wondering if anyone had tried fitting a lighter power socket there for plugging in something, maybe one of those tiny torches that plug strait into the lighter socket?

Also has anyone tried getting flares from Japan that fit there or are they illegal here?

Yes in Japan apparently its the law to have flare in case you break down, I assume in bad weather so others can see you?

Oh okay I was confused for a moment. I'm going to move my accessories socket to there and either mount a shift light or push button start
